*Selvedge denim was originally just denim, very classic. Manufactured on so-called shuttle weaving machines, which automatically create a visible selvedge so that the denim does not fray. Today, you can recognize selvedge denim (derived from "self-edge") by this selvedge. No modern machine creates this decorative seam on jeans. Selvedge denim has become a quality feature not only because only the best quality cotton is used for the special and narrow looms, which do not have the most modern technology - but also because production is slower and more conscious.
